When it comes to delivering a powerful presentation, impactful pathos can often be overlooked for its more tangible siblings, logos and pathos. While statistics and facts are certainly powerful presentation tools, pathos is a key component of the persuasive trifecta. Here are three of Dog and Pony Show's favorite ways to integrate all three aspects of the presentation power-house.
1.Harness the Power of Emotion

Emotions can sometimes get a bad rep in the business world, as it can be hard to concretely measure their influence. However, amidst your statistics and infographics, appealing to your audience's emotions and pathos can create a lasting impression. From personal stories to sharing company goals, there are a variety of opportunities to appeal to your audience's hearts.
2. Be Mindful of Your Audience

Seeing your audience members as individuals, rather than a mass of people, will enable you to better cater to their listening needs. As you craft your presentation, think about your audience's desires, fears, wants, and needs. Let this information not only guide the information you include in your presentation, but how you share it.
3. Craft a Take-Away

One of the strongest tools to appeal to an audience's ethos, logos, and pathos is to craft a "so what?" at the end of your presentation. Explicitly stating the take-away or desired action for your audience allows your listeners to follow the logic of your presentation while increasing the probability of your desired post-presentation outcome.
